Boring Life At The Moment

Right now life is pretty boring around the Lobdell house. The first couple of weeks of class have been crazy. I started clinicals this week at Lakeshore Health and Rehab. Everyone seems really nice there, that is always a plus. I am working on the spinal cord unit which is pretty scary. People being paralyzed because of an accident or fall, it could happen to anyone at any age. It kind of works out for my next test too. My test this week is on the brain and spinal cord. I am ready to get it over with but not prepared enough yet.
Trevor has been great already. He has cleaned and done laundry the past two weeks that way on the weekends I can just focus on studying and not worry about household things. My temper has been short lately due to stress and he understands like no one else so is patient with me.
This is going to be the craziest week thus far. I have to work up until class and clinicals everyday until 3:30, class until 9 Monday night, clinicals until 11 on Tuesday and Wednesday night, then go straight from work to take my test Thursday. Now the question is when am I going to sleep this week, because while I am at home I need to study for my insane test.
So... this is what me and Stan are doing this weekend...

This is what he does while I study. Gets right up under me and sleeps.
Hope everyone has a great week. Pray that May comes quickly this year!!!

Ice Storm and Auburn Wins National Championship!

On Sunday Trevor and I went to church and after church went to the grocery store to get the essentials, you know for the blizzard we were supposed to get. We got some chili and a few other things then came home. We cleaned most of the day then had a few friends over to cook out some yummy food. Before they got here it started raining ice really hard. I was surprised at how much it was doing. Our friends hung out here for a little while then went home driving very carefully. I got a call from work saying that we were going to be closed due to the weather on Monday and not 5 minutes later got a call from the school saying my first night of class had been canceled. When the weather man kept threatening that there was a big possibility we were going to loose power we decided to pack up and go to my parents house around 8 that night. My nieces, sister, and brother-in-law were over there and since they were calling for snow we wanted to be there to play with the kids in it. My dad had to go in to work though. So we were glad that we went to be with my mom. We went on a little longer of a route to get to my parents house than usual to detour some hills. We still slid a few times. The ice was so pretty everywhere, especially on the roads because no one was driving on it. We only saw like two cars on the way and one was a cop. We had to drive at only about 10-15 mph to get there safely. After we got there the kids were so excited to see Stanford. We played Wii for a little while, watched the news and roasted marsh mellows. The kids had a good time doing that.

We all went to bed hoping when we woke up Monday morning there would be lots of snow to play in, but that didn't happen. Trevor woke up early with Stan and took him on a long walk through the neighborhood and out to the main road. When he got back he said everything was very frozen on the roads but no real snow. Bummer!! We apparently were in the gap on the radar and only got the ice part of the winter storm. Oh well we had a good time hanging out with the family. My dad came home, after being at the fire station all night, around 2 in the afternoon on Monday and said the roads were much better just a little slushy. So..Trevor and I packed up our stuff to come home.
After we got home and unpacked, showered, and got warm again we snuggled on the coach and watched a movie. We watched Inception, which is a great movie by the way, if you haven't seen it already. After the movie we got ready to go to Devin's house to watch the National Championship game. I brought the chili over there and they made a few other things and we were about to pop by the time the game started. I am a crazy Alabama fan and graduated from there but was definitely pulling for the Tigers. We have a great football state, in case you guys didn't know. To have 2 Heisman trophy winners and 2 National Championships from the same state of Alabama back to back is awesome to me. I wasn't going to wear an Auburn shirt but I had on my orange shirt. It was a great game.

Right before the game got started I got a voicemail from work saying we were closed again today and from school saying my second official day of class had been canceled. Kind of disappointing because I didn't want to take another day of vacation time but oh well. So...I am off today and about to starting studying some things my teacher already put online. Hope everyone has a great rest of the week and congrats to the Auburn Tigers!!

New Years Weekend

It was so nice taking some extra time off of work, getting Thursday through Sunday off the last two weeks. On Thursday I had a pamper me day. Haven't had one of those in a while! Started out getting my nails done at 9;30 then headed to 280 and got a spray tan, then went and got my hair cut and highlighted. After I got finished with all of that I met Trevor and went shopping at the mall for new years eve outfits. I actually bought the dress that Trevor picked out. He knows me too well. I also got this new toy Thursday....

A Nikon D3000

I am having problems working it though. It takes great pictures on auto but I want to learn how to take advantage of all the great features on it. I wish they did classes on all the extras. I hate reading a book to try to teach myself how to do it. I am just lazy in that category I guess. I would much rather someone just show me. Ha!!

On Friday Trevor and I left at lunch to meet his parents then headed to Philadelphia, MS. We got there I guess around 4 and gambled for a few hours before getting ready for the New Years Eve party. It was a Mardi Gras theme. They had great food including these massive crab legs that were delicious.

The band was fun. They were a 70's and 80's cover band. Ending the party with a campaign toast and strawberries of course.

On Saturday they had a great brunch where they made omelets and all kinds of other things for everyone that was invited to the party the night before. After breakfast Trevor's mom and I got an hour massage followed by a little while in the steam room. After our spa time I went back to our room to watch football and nap a little bit. His parents were so nice and game us their suite and they took the regular room. It was a one bed broom, living room, and one and a half bath. The main bathroom was huge. After I woke up from my nap I got ready for the concert. It was the grand opening of the new concert hall in the Golden Moon. They took all the machines out of it and just made it a huge concert area. It holds like 4500 people. Luckily we were very close to the stage with that many seats being in the space. The first performer was Joe Nichols! He did a very good job. I didn't realize that I knew like all of his songs. He even played a new song for us that is going to be his next single.

Then Martina McBride came out. She is so tiny to be able to belt out the way she does.

Photobucket

After we left the concert we gambled for a while before going to bed. We didn't go to bed until around 3am so when we woke up at 9 to come home we were a little tired. The pictures from the concert were taken with my little camera. You could not do flash photography and I could not figure out how to work it in the dark without the picture being so crazy looking. Again, something I need to work on.
On Sunday we were so lazy and tired after getting home we just slept and watched movies all day. I hope everyone had a great New Years. This year has definitely been different for Trevor and I. The first year we were married we spent so much time together and cooked and worked out together after work every day. It was so nice. But 2010 I started back nursing school and turned my life upside down. I don't see how people live the way I have the past year with a child. I only have one semester left in 2011 to be done. Then get our life back to normal. I didn't appreciate the time that we had together as much as I do now.

# 2 Is Booked

My # 2 on the 101 list was to go out of the Country again whether it be Sandals or not. Well we just booked it this morning and it is another Sandals. It is the Sandals in St Johns, Antigua. I am so excited. We booked it for the end of May after I get finished with school. I am ready to go now! Here are a few pictures of the resort and room...

Christmas 2010

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas this year. Ours was great. We started out the celebration with Trevor's family by going to Prince of Peace for the Christmas Eve service, like we have done ever since we have been together. After church we went to dinner at Firebirds. We always go back to Trevor's parents house and take pictures.

On Christmas morning we woke up and did our Christmas with each other. Of course we kept the tradition going with matching Pj's that I used to do with my family again this year. Trevor did really good this year. Last year he got me another band for my wedding set, which he didn't have to do a lot of shopping for. This year he went shopping and got me clothes. He knows me well! I only had to take one thing back because it did not fit. But other than that I loved everything. As he was shopping for me this year he called and said, "this is really hard can't I just get you another band". Ha! Ha! He is such an awesome husband and I thank God everyday that he brought us together.

After we did our Christmas together we went to his parents house for breakfast and opened presents with them. Trevor got a new Wii from them so he will have that to keep him occupied when I start back school.

After we left their house we went home dropped off the presents from them and picked up the presents to take to my parents and went there for lunch. The kids, my sister, and brother-in-law were already there. Santa came to my parents to the kids as well. My parents really out did themselves this year, you will see in the pictures. After we opened presents and ate Madison read us a Christmas story. She is getting to be so good at reading.

55 Inch TV for each other! I have never seen a box so big.

After all the family stuff we came home and Trevor hooked up his Wii and Devin came over to play it with him. Trevor also got a remote control car and I got a flip video so later I will have to put up a video of Stanford and the car, pretty funny.

It was so nice to spend so much time with our families and not worry about anything else like school or obligations anywhere else. I am so thankful for all of the wonderful people in my life.

Life these Days

Praise the lord!! I am out of school for a few weeks and passed, which is always a plus. So on to my 5th and FINAL semester. I start back on January 10th. It was a rough week last week taking my final and feeling uneasy until finding out my grade until the middle of the week. Now I am just really ready for Christmas and time that we will spend with family and friends.

On Friday I finished a few presents for Trevor and now I am feeling good knowing that all of our shopping is done. Everything is wrapped and under the tree. After shopping at the summit that morning I went to meet my mom and we got our nails and toes done. Great treat, I might add. After that we went back to her house to do our traditional Christmas baking. We made so much stuff including: chocolate covered Ritz and peanut butter, chocolate covered pretzels, peppermint bark, and a few other things. After all of our baking I got ready for a date night with Trevor. We went to Stix for dinner and then went to see Despicable Me. Was all in all a great day.

On Saturday Trevor and I met his dad, Chad, and Alissa at Fox Valley for dinner. Always delicious! After dinner we went to see Devin's new band play at Matthews Bar and Grill downtown. They did a really good job. There were lots of people there. We didn't get home until midnight. That is really late for us old folks!

On Sunday I went golfing with Trevor, Greg, and Chad. It was a little chilly but not too bad. I just didn't know what to do with myself all weekend without picking up a book.

This week at work my doctor was only there seeing patients on Monday so the rest of the week is just catch up time with taking a little time off.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!!

Heather and Ben's Engagement!!

Last weekend we were able to celebrate with Heather and Ben on their engagement. He proposed to her at dinner then when they came back to his house we were all waiting to surprise her. All of their family were there and a few friends. We had a good time celebrating with them. Here are a few pictures from the night.

Congratulations to the happy couple!!!

The next morning Trevor and I ran in the Jingle Bell Run with Marcie's work. I have not worked out or done any cardio since the Race for the Cure in October, so I am a little out of shape. Trevor always stays back with me but this time I told him to just run without me. He ran the whole thing with his brother and finished in 27 minutes. I was very proud of him. I finished in 37 minutes which I wasn't really that happy with but those hills are a killer in this race. So I guess it was okay.

This Monday is my final for the semester. I am extremely nervous about it so please pray for me this weekend while I study and Monday for the test. Hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the week.
