It’s A Boy

Trevor came and met me at work the Wednesday before Christmas and the Ultrasound tech here was so nice to do one for us. Neither of our parents knew that we were getting it done this early. We are not scheduled to get our anatomy scan until my 20th week on January the 10th, so that is all they knew. I drank a half of a Diet Mountain Dew before I went downstairs because I was scared the baby would be sleeping and wouldn’t corporate. I have heard many stories where people have had to come back because the baby wouldn’t show their stuff. When she started to do the ultra sound you could tell the baby’s feet were crossed. So she moved my belly around some to wake him up. As Trevor was looking at it and I was looking at him, he said “is that what I think it is?” Right then before even looking I knew it was a boy. He started grinning from ear to ear. Angela said yep it is a BOY!!! Like I have said before, I didn’t care either way because I want both a boy and a girl, so I was excited as well. I knew Trevor wanted a boy so that made me even happier. He all of a sudden started moving around a lot. She said well I think the caffeine has just kicked in. It was so hard to hold it in until Christmas. The next morning when we woke up Trevor kissed my belly and said good morning son. To know what the baby is now makes it even that much more real that we will soon be parents.

We decided to tell our parents on Christmas eve instead of Christmas morning just because of the way we were doing Christmas with our families this year. My dad had to work on Christmas day so we were going to celebrate the day after Christmas with my family. It was kind of nice to do it that way because we spent a whole day with each of our families. I hated that my dad had to work on Christmas though.

Before we went to dinner and church service on Christmas Eve we went to my parents house and gave them this to open…..

FPO

They were so excited. They don’t have any boys in the family. It is just me and my sister then she has two girls. I am happy that my dad will be able to do boy things with our son that he hasn’t ever had the chance to do. After we left my parents house we headed to Trevor’s
parents. We wanted to give it to them before we left for church because Trevor couldn’t wait any longer. They were really excited as well. We gave them the same plaque that we gave my parents. His mom started crying hysterically. She really wanted a girl because she has always had boys, but she knew we weren’t just having one child and said she was wanting us to have a boy first. Plus she knew that is what Trevor really wanted. But then she was mad at us because she lost all her make-up before we went out.

Here are a few pictures that we got. We didn’t get many but just enough to show us in black and white that it is a boy. I am sure we will get a bunch more at our anatomy scan.

We have not for sure made up our minds on a name. It is a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. We will let you know as soon as we figure it out for sure.

Tacky Christmas Party

This past Friday we had a Christmas party at Trevor’s parents house. Turns out hosting a party while pregnant is pretty hard. On Thursday after I got home from work I was in the kitchen until around 9:30 making some things then went to work at 7 Friday morning. On Friday after work I went home and finished baking before going to his parents. By the end of the party I was literally sick. I had a lot of fun during it but between everyone leaving and cleaning up didn’t work out so well….so I was not the best at helping clean. We had a good turnout with a few of our friends, Chad and Alissa’s friends, and his parents friends. All the food was so yummy. We got a bunch of wings from Buffalos, different dips, meatballs, and of course sweets. We played darts, pool, and cards. I hope everyone had as much fun as we did.

I am ready for Christmas at my house. All the presents are wrapped just waiting on the upcoming events to celebrate with family and friends. Tomorrow is my last day of work for the week and I am not going back until next Tuesday. Excited to have a long break. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday with their loved ones. I also hope that the real reason for the season is remembered, JESUS!!!

Let the Christmas Parties Begin…

This past Saturday was our first Christmas party of the year. It was Bubba and Betty’s party at their house. We had a lot of fun. He has one of the most beautiful views I have seen that looks over 280 from his backyard. Turns out the baby really loves shrimp right now. I ate probably a dozen jumbo cocktail shrimp along with all the other food they had there. Some of the boys played ping pong and a little pool, while others just stood around and chatted it up. flowers 916Jason and Bubba (Sorry these aren’t the best pictures didn’t have my good camera there)

16 Week Appointment

Today was my 16 week doctors appointment. Everything with the baby and I look great. I think the HR today was 156. Next month we will find out if we are having a beautiful baby girl or a handsome baby boy. I am excited about finding out but not as much as I thought that I would. I guess just due to me really not caring or wanting one over the other.  Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Our Week

This past weekend we went to Chad and Alissa’s house to watch the SEC championship. We had a lot of fun but I ate too much football junk food. So by the end of the night I wasn’t feeling so well. Georgia didn’t win but they put up a good fight against the # 1 team. Here are a few pictures from the night…..

Last night I woke up in the middle of the night to bad stomach pain. After an hour of that at 3 in the morning I was finally able to go back to sleep. After I woke up I checked the babies HR and the baby seemed fine with a rate of 154. Still I called the OB and they wanted me to have an US just to make sure everything was going okay. From one bad night two good things happened, I got to see my precious little one and turns out all of the pain was because my 5cm cyst that was on my ovary ruptured. No more worries in the cyst department. The doctor told me in the beginning that as the baby grew, the baby should take over and the cyst would go away. It was just our prayer that this would happen and we wouldn’t have to worry about it growing anymore. Here are a few pictures they gave me…….

First Trimester and First Ultrasound

So....I am so ready for this trimester to be over. It will not be long now. I didn't think I was going to be one of those people who was sick all the time but I was mistaken. Since 5 1/2 weeks there hasn’t been many days that have gone by that I haven't felt nauseous. Trevor keeps saying, I can’t wait until we are done paying for you to just borrow food,  joking of course. Some people found out at work before I wanted anyone to just because of me darting to the bathroom while in the room with  patients. The hard thing at the beginning was surgery. I love assisting in surgery but when someone was open in front of me now, I got very queezy. Not really good for the job but it has started to get better.  The one food that makes me feel bad, even when I think about it, is peanut butter. It was the first thing I got sick after eating and that is one thing I can't eat right now. Every other food that I have gotten sick after eating has been fine to eat again. I have been very tired too. Pretty strange for me! Friday, Saturday, and Sunday weeks 6 through 10 I probably took a nap everyday. I am trying to make myself still play tennis a few days a week to stay in shape though. Now that I am 12 weeks I am not nearly as sick  or tired. A few times a week still a little but much better with everyday.

My first Ultrasound was Tuesday October 18th. I left work after lunch and Trevor met me to go. Everything with the baby looked great. Her/His HR was 160. flowers 839 My doctor gave me some Zofran for the nausea and it really has helped some. Not a good time with the phlebotomist. I have never had issues getting blood drawn until this time. She blew my vein, it was getting puffy by the second and she was still digging. I said the next time I am going to ask if I can just do it myself.  Maybe that is just my hormones talking but it sucked. I do have a large cyst that has grown a good bit in the past few months that they will just watch closely. He said usually the baby takes over and it will just go away on its own.  Nothing scary yet. So all in all pretty good visit.

Today I went for my second visit. We actually HEARD the heartbeat at this visit. It was 167 this time. But really, I heard it on Sunday with Marcie’s monitor. I kind of cheated.  But it is always nice to hear.  Trevor and I both love my doctor so much. What other doctor out there gave their husband a high five and said good job at their first visit.  He always answers all our questions plus some. I am not really showing much at all so no pictures yet. I will not have another ultrasound until around Christmas for the Anatomy one. So for now…..

We Are Going To Be Parents!!

We will have a + 1 before long. Number 7 on my 101 list was to get pregnant and that happened in August. It has been so hard to hold it in but we wanted to wait until we heard our little ones heart beat and I got a little further along before we told everyone. We have been secretly trying since the very end of April and in August it happened.

I took a test on a Saturday morning around 7 AM when I woke up. I had always learned that was the best way to do it to be the most accurate, was when you first wake up but that is not always the case. After I took it I came back to bed and was tossing and turning with excitement and fear of course. Trevor was like, "what is wrong with you"? I told him I was just awake and couldn't go back to sleep. So we both just layed there for a little while and watched TV until we got up for breakfast. Trevor had planned to go golfing that day so luckily he left around 9 that morning for that. After he left I took another test and it was positive. So unless you are really early that when you first wake up theory is wrong. After my second test I headed out to do a little shopping for Trevor. When he got home from golfing I gave him this..…

It was so funny because he thought he knew exactly what it was but little did he know!!! He was far from it!!  After he opened his present and card we had to pull ourselves together to go to my grandparents then Lindsey and Jason's to watch football that evening. I wanted to take more pictures but as soon as he opened the present and looked at me I started crying. So that was the end of pictures.

We wanted to wait until our first Ultrasound to tell anyone but after a week of telling no one I could not hold it in any longer and wanted to tell our parents. I was already staying sick so I needed someone to talk to about it. We had already planned to go to dinner with his parents that week to Fox Valley. So before dinner we gave them their surprise....

flowers 775

They were shocked. After his mom going hysterical we went to dinner. This is the first grandchild for them so they are a little crazy right now. After dinner with his family we went to my families house to tell them. They were soo excited!! We gave them a onesie like this it just said Nana and Pop….

flowers 773

I don’t have a picture of my parents opening theirs because as soon as my mom opened it I just started crying. Not really sure why. The tears just started flowing. My mom has some on her camera. I will have to get from her to put up

Trevor and I are so happy to be starting this new journey in our life. We are excited now to share it with everyone!!

Last Weekend and Marcie’s Baby Shower

This past weekend was crazy and very tiring. But was all fun! On Friday at lunch we had a showing at our house so I woke up early to clean a little bit before hanging out with my mom. We went to Christmas Village. It is kind of a tradition with us. They were very crowded and had lots of cute things. We weren’t really in a hurry so we took our time and stayed there for like 5 hours. After we got finished there I went back to her house to make a few things for the shower. My mom was such a big help. On Saturday I had to run a bunch of errands and then I went and got my nails and toes done with Marcie. That night we went over to Lindsey and Jason’s house to watch the Alabama LSU game. It was good to see everyone that was there. It was all fun until Alabama lost!

On Sunday was the shower. Everything turned out wonderful, she had a good turnout, and got lots of nice things. Here are a few pictures from the day….

The Fall Festival For Halloween

For Halloween we went to the fall festival at church with my family. The girls had so much fun playing in all the inflatable things. They dressed up as Alabama cheerleaders. So of course my dad had to wear his Auburn shirt. They also had the regular chili cook off that is always yummy. There were so many people there. Here are a few pictures from the night…..

Finley Cate And Ella Kate Are Here

On Thursday morning around 5:30 I got a text from Kaci saying they were on the way to the hospital because her water broke. She was already prepared to go at any time. She was put on bed rest the week prior because she had dilated 3 cm already and was only 35 weeks. She had Finley Cate that day at around 1:45.

flowers 841

She was healthy and 6lbs. Kaci had a pretty easy delivery but later that night got a little sick and on into the next day. I went up there to visit her on Thursday night and watched her feed her for the first time. After visiting with Kaci, Ben, and the baby I went over and hung out with Heather for a little while. Heather was already scheduled to be induced that Friday so was there getting prepared for that. Luckily they were both at the same place, so convenient. When I left that night I had planned to come back on Friday evening with Trevor and our friends Sam and Joe to see both babies, but that didn’t work out to well. On Friday Heather was having issues progressing so ended up having a c-section around 5 that evening. I wanted to give her some time after having surgery and didn’t want to over crowd her. Kaci was still very sick and had not gotten out of bed since her epidural the day before. Every time she tried to get out of bed she would pass out or close to it. So we didn’t even go up there Friday. On Saturday morning Trevor had a tennis match then we headed up there to see everyone. Kaci was getting Finley Cate dressed and ready to go home. They were both doing very well.

After a short visit with Kaci we went around to see Heather. Ella Kate was sent to the NICU for a little while when we got there so we were unable to see her. We had fun playing with Leighton though, her big sister, that just turned one.  This is a picture of Ella Kate from when she was born though…

Hopefully I will get to go visit them one day this week. Ella Kate is having to stay a few extra days so she will not be home until later in the week. She is healthy, they are just watching her a little longer. I can’t wait to meet her. Kaci and baby are both doing great.

Race For The Cure

This past Saturday Trevor and I did the race for the cure with Marcie. It was the first time I think I have ever walked the whole thing. I tried to be a good friend so Marcie wasn’t bored. She is not at a point in her pregnancy were it is comfortable to run.

Friday night we were talking to my neighbor who is a breast cancer survivor and she was wanting to dye her grandson’s t-shirt pink for the race.  In turn we bought some dye and Trevor decided he wanted his shirt and socks pink as well. It actually turned out pretty good.

flowers 833

Trevor said he was going to walk with us but before we even made it to the start line he said, I can’t do this. He ran and then came back to meet us and walked the rest of the way with his two ladies.

After the race we went to Chili’s for lunch. Southwest egg rolls are my favorite. We got home and showered and went to my parents for the day to watch football.

Everything turned out so cute Kameron is such a good decorator. I was so happy to of been apart of it. She had a good turn out and got lots of nice and cute things.
