Easter and Life Lately

A few weeks ago was Easter weekend….my mom took all of our family pictures on her camera and I just got them from her yesterday. I love celebrating Easter with mine and Trevor’s family. I am so so lucky that both of our families are religious and love the LORD. On Saturday night we did the traditional Catholic service with all of the Lobdell’s at Prince of Peace, followed by dinner at Firebirds. On Sunday morning we went to the Baptist church with my family, First Baptist Pelham. After we left church we went to my parents for Easter baskets and family photos followed by lunch at my Nanny’s house. My parents got the baby a nice diaper bag from Sew Precious at Patton Creek filled with lots of good things that we will need.

After we left her house we went to Trevor’s parents for dinner.  

I haven’t been blogging much lately because I have been so busy plus tired. When I am not running around or working I haven’t really felt  like doing anything but hanging on the couch with Trevor. I am just started to train a new girl at work that is going to take over for me while I am on maternity leave. I have also been working more in Harper’s room with the help of my wonderful hubby getting a little decorating done. It is starting to finally come together the way I wanted minus a few things. I will put pictures up of it after I am finished.

I am feeling pretty good these days still lots of heartburn that is somewhat controlled with my medications but still a small issue. I have been sleeping pretty good as well. I am only waking up around once a night and not having to take anything to help me sleep. I have woken up a few times in the past few weeks with really bad reflux. It takes a little while to go back to sleep after that but I have only done that like 3 times. Hopefully it doesn’t get too much more frequent then that. I have just had to retire my wedding rings due to swelling. I have just recently started swelling  more.  On Friday I was fine putting them on but around lunch I got nervous because I could not get them off…so I would just rather put them away until after the baby comes. I go to the doctor on Tuesday to get checked for the first time. I was supposed to go last Friday but I wanted Trevor to go with me so it was more convenient this way. I am excited to find out how I am doing. Only around 4 more weeks until my due date. I am starting to get excited and a little nervous at the same time. After my appointment this week I will probably go ahead and start getting a bag together for the hospital. It is crazy to believe that we are getting to that point in the pregnancy. It feels like not that long ago I was telling Trevor he was going to be a daddy.

Baby Shower

This past Sunday was my big  baby shower at church. Everything looked so nice. Mrs Elaine did such a good job putting it all together along with all her help. The food was yummy as always…grape salad, crackers and cream cheese wrapped in bacon, chocolate covered strawberries,  chicken salad, spinach dip, and these yummy cucumber things.  My mom made the cake. She did a great job as usual.

I made this to go on the door at the hospital. I bought the things that I needed for it when my mom and I went to Cottontails a few weeks ago.

So many of my good friends and family were able to come. I was so happy to see everyone. I wish that I would have been able to talk to everyone more than I was.

I got such nice gifts. Lots of the things that I will need after Harper gets here. They have been all sitting in our living room for the past few days. I finally got everything washed and put up yesterday with a little help.

A Sneak Peak of Harper’s Nursery

I still have more to do in the nursery but here is a little sneak peak of the bed and chair…

It is kind of cramped in the room right now so we are trying to figure out where we want the dresser and changing table before we start hanging anything on the walls. I want to get a monogram for the wall but I hate to get one and put it on the wall then not be able to get it off when we move, so I may just wait on that. We will get there, just taking a little time.

# 46 The Jazz Cat Ball

Number 46 on my 101 list was to do something for charity. A few  Saturday’s ago we attended the first annual Jazz Cat Ball at Workplay. It was a benefit for the greater Birmingham humane society. The esthetician that I work with at the dermatologist office is on the board for them so some of us from work went. It was more fun than I thought it would be. I was expecting to go and hang out for a little while and contribute to the humane society but we ended up staying until around 1130 that night. I was concerned on what to wear, due to it being a formal event and me being 25 weeks and a few days pregnant. I ended up wearing a dress that I bought for New Years 2 years ago. Not sure how I still fit in it but Harper and I squeezed in it. They had several nice restaurants that catered the event. All the food was delicious. They had dueling piano’s in one room and a live band in another. They also had a silent auction that had some pretty nice things in it. It was New Orleans style so as you were walking to different areas at the venue they had dancers, guitar players, and multiple others that had boxes by them for donations. Pretty neat. We didn’t take a lot of pictures but here are a few…

Our Weekend And Finley Cate’s Baptism

I was feeling kind of behind on Harper’s room even though everything had been ordered just because it had nothing baby in it. It was still an office and Stanford’s room. I got a call on Friday saying our chair from Storkland came in. On Saturday Trevor and I went to pick up the chair and cleaned the furniture out of the room and took it to Trevor’s parents house. We also went to Home Depot and picked out the paint  for the room. The room feels so clean now…just ready for the furniture to get here. It will not be in until the end of March. The rest of the day I cleaned up the house.

On Saturday night we went to a stock the bar party for a friend who just bought a new house. We didn’t stay very long just because I was tired from the long day that we had. I also got another cold over the weekend. I am pretty sure it is the fourth one I have had during my pregnancy. Apparently I am just catching everything these days. So I think I did a little to much for the day.

On Sunday Trevor and I woke up early to go to Kaci and Ben’s church for Finley Cate’s Baptism. We really liked their church. It is Methodist which is somewhat an in between of mine and Trevor’s religions. After the service we went to her mom’s house to celebrate with brunch. It was probably the best brunch ever. My mom made a delicious cake for the party as well. Everything was beautiful as always at her mom’s house.

   

#22 On My 101 List

Go ice skating was number 22 on my 101 list….which I knocked out Saturday. We took my nieces Madison and Maci with us. Trevor wouldn’t let me do much skating because he was afraid I was going to fall on my stomach. The girls had a good time. Trevor got a pretty good workout as well. Madison’s pants were soaked from falling so much.

While we were skating we had a showing at the house. After we got home we got ready for dinner with Trevor’s family. His grandparents have been in town from Michigan and they left today so we hung out with them some and ate. After dinner we went to watch Devin play for a little bit on 280. Today after church we went to my parents for lunch, which is always delicious. All in all pretty good weekend.

Baby Update at 24 Weeks and Madison’s Birthday

I have been lazy about blogging lately. When I get home from work I go to the gym or come home and cook dinner and then go into a coma until the next day. Pregnancy has been pretty good lately. I am not getting sick nearly as much. It is actually pretty rare now. The doctor has me taking 2 Ranitidine a day now so I don’t have to take any tums. I was up to taking around 5 tums through out the day before my last visit to the doctor.  Trevor has felt him kick now a couple of times. He was excited for that. It took a while for him to feel it even thought I have been feeling it for weeks. I only having a little bit of low back pain now after being on my feet all day during the week..so not much to complain about. I have a doctors appointment this coming Friday for my sugar test. Please pray everything goes well with that.

Last weekend we went to the bowling ally for Madison’s birthday party. I can’t believe she is eight now. She was the tinniest baby when she was born. Here are a few pictures from her party…
