Sips and Strokes # 52

Today was Veteran's day so let me start out by saying thank you guys and girls for all that you do for our country. It is a selfless act to do what you do and I really do appreciate it. Please pray for a friend I used to work with that just left from over there to come home. Please pray that he has safe travels back to Birmingham.

My doctor was off today so I ended up taking the day off to study. So that is what I did all day. Tonight I got together with a few girls and marked something else off my 101 list. We went to eat at Margareta Grill and then headed to Sips and Strokes. I was super excited because I have always wanted to go but there was never really a time where I could and actually paint something that I would hang in my house. I have always wanted to paint one of their angels so I finally got the opportunity. I am sure everyone was real mad at me by the time we got done because like I said the angel was my idea and mixing skin tone colors sucks. It took probably an hour alone just painting her face neck and arm. By the end everyone was like, "I am so sick of skin". We had a really good time though and FYI pretty sure Carina is a silent artist. Her background looked amazing.

Marcie took a lot more pictures than I did, so after she puts them up I will add them.

Fall flowers planted

On Sunday morning we were bad and skipped church. Trevor's mom came over and helped me plant fall flowers. I go all out for Spring usually but not much for Fall. This year we did a little more than usual for some curb side appeal since the house is on the market. I am not in that big of a hurry to sell our house now since my favorite house that we were looking at sold. I am kind of bummed about that but I keep telling myself that is not where God wanted us to be since we didn't get it. I think we are just going to wait and start looking again until we get some interest on our house because I don't really want to get my hopes up again for an awesome house, then that one sell too. I thought that it would be good for us to have a few in mind so when someone does want to buy ours it would be easy to choose, but it could be months for ours to sell so we are just waiting. I don't like having to just wait around for someone to want our house. I am a little impatient don't you think. But the good thing about having our house on the market is it is always clean. Just the way I like it! Anyways back to flowers....

Hopefully they will grow a lot. Like they usually do.

Saturday

Football Saturday this week we went to our friends Scott and Heather's house to watch the Bama game after I had my morning study time. We had a good time it was all of my girls from school Kaci, Sam, and Heather. All with their husbands except for Ben, hunting season of course. We had a good time hanging out and watching football. Too bad Alabama lost again. But they didn't play as good as LSU. Here are a few pics from the day...

Stanford # 45 and 67

I didn't realize how good Stanford has been. On my 101 list I wanted Stanford to not run away for 6 months and since the list was made on March 17th, he has well surpassed that expectation. So proud of him.

Also we had a football get together for the first game and he didn't run away then either so I guess that counts as # 45. Even though it was not a huge party like it was last year, due to so many people actually going to that game, it still works.

Football and Puppies

Devin's for football...

Last Saturday we went to Devin's house to watch the football games after I studied that morning. His dog had puppies on Friday so we played with them some too. Correction, held them because their eyes aren't even open yet and they are not walking. They are very cute. That night we made smores in the fire pit for the first time this year. They were so good!

Fall Festival 2010

Today we went to the Fall Festival at my church with my parents, my sister, brother-in-law, and the girls. They were cute. I am glad they were able to go. My sister and Maci were both not feeling so well. Maci dressed as a lady bug and Madison was a ballerina. There were so many people there. We ate hot dogs, corn on the cob, and chili (for a contest they always have). Here are a few pictures.

After we left the church I dropped Trevor off at home and met up with a friend at Starbucks to study for my test tomorrow. Our test is on the Immune System. Which includes all the diseases and any kind of allergic reactions. Lots of information. So...it is going to be a long night followed by a long day at work before the test. I really wish it was tomorrow night at this time, hopefully I will be sleeping then for the 1st time in 36 hours but ya gotta do what ya gotta do right.

This week is going to be long. Here is the breakdown...tomorrow as I have said 15 times I have a test and class... Tuesday and Wednesday I clinicals at the hospital until 11...Thursday night after work my mom and I are going to Christmas Village at the BJCC, tradition of course...

Friday I have to work half a day, which I normally do not do...Saturday I will be studying for the day and watching Alabama hopefully beat LSU...Sunday Trevor's mom and I are planting flowers in the yard to hopefully help the eye appeal of the house for sale.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!!!

Our Weekend

On Friday I studied all day during the day and cleaned some. That night Trevor and I just cooked at the house and hung out and watched TV. It was nice not to do anything for a change.

On Saturday I studied during the morning while Trevor played tennis with Jason. As you can see I study best in the morning when it is quiet and I am the only one in the house, except Stanford of course. Saturday afternoon Trevor went to Devin's to watch the Auburn game while I ran some errands and then met him over there with Maci. We watched her last night for my sister. While we were at Devin's house the guys were shooting his new bow when my husband and his brother injured themselves the same way as each other. Brothers!!! Trevor had just told his brother not to lock out his arm when he was shooting and he wouldn't hurt himself, then Trevor did the same exact thing but worse. I guess he just couldn't let his brother be in pain alone. Ha!

After we left Devin's we all went over to my friends Lindsey and Jason's again for the Alabama game. I was able to watch a little of the game because Maci had a play friend, Griffin. They are in the same class at school. They just played their little hearts out on the swing set then a little on the power wheels tractor. After a while they were pooped and came inside to the playroom.

Sorry it is so blurry but it is so cute, I had to put it up. The whole time she was riding it her mouth was wide open. She isn't that good at the whole steering thing though. She kept running into the fence.

We are going to have to work on Trevor a little bit. He is going to be a very over protective dad. It is already coming out. He watched them play outside a while in the fenced in backyard and then came inside and said, "okay it's your turn to go out there and watch them". I had to inform him that you don't have to watch them every two seconds they are fine. Then even when she came inside to the playroom he kept saying where is she can you see her from where you are sitting. I just had to laugh a little. She isn't a baby that gets into everything anymore. I love him for it though. He also informed me that he would like when we have a baby for it to come out 2 and just skip all of the earlier things. Because he wanted them to come out ready to play with him. He is going to be a great dad one day. Just not anytime soon.

I hope everyone had a good weekend!!
