Family Beach Trip

Last Wednesday Trevor and I left work around lunch to head down to the beach to meet my family there. My parents, sister, brother-in-law, and nieces left the Sunday before us so we were excited about getting down there to meet them. We got down there at around five Wednesday night so we just met them at for dinner at Shuckums, one of my old favorites. There was a little wait so we got a chance to catch up on what had been going on so far on their trip and take a few pictures.

We had raw oysters and popcorn shrimp the best way to start vacation. After dinner we went back to the house, unpacked and looked around the house. We stayed at my friend’s(Lindsey) parents house. They have been doing some remodeling so it was nice to see the transformation. My dad actually went down there last summer and helped build an awesome new deck there. We went to Pier Park a few different days for lunch. It is so nice to have that there now. There is good restaurants and stores that we enjoyed going to. We hung out with the kids at the pool and the beach everyday that we were there.

It was nice to get to see them so much and my parents too over the past week because I haven’t been able to do that over the past year. Trevor enjoyed lots of fishing, as well. On Friday Trevor, my dad, and Brent went on a fishing trip. They caught lots of good fish and had some good male bonding time. The guy who took them out on his  boat filleted their fish afterwards so we enjoyed that for dinner Friday night, along with 3lbs of shrimp. Of course they are boys and took no pictures of that experience. Two of the nights we went walking on the beach with the girls and caught crabs, “ocean crabs”, as Maci called them!! She was cracking us up the way she caught them with her hands. She was not scared at all. She was even talking to them when she put them in her cup when they tried to crawl out, “No Mam”, she would tell them.

We could not have left the beach without doing family pictures. I looked into getting us a professional photographer but I started looking a little too late. Oh well!

We left early Sunday morning to get back to relax for a little bit at home before Monday. I was so glad that we were able to go with them, since we had just got back from Antigua, but now it is back to the real world of working. I still have to take boards, which I registered for today. So the studying for those will start pretty soon.

Antigua # 2

On my 101 list was to go out of the country again whether it be Sandals or not and it was. We had such a wonderful time. It was a much needed vacation after graduation and for Trevor and I. We were unable to spend much time together this past year so it was nice to have just us for 5 nights!! We left on Wednesday at 6 a.m. We flew to Miami were Trevor found this fun little thing to play with while we waited on our next flight.

I didn't have time to go to the book store before we left to get a good book so while we were in Miami I went to some stores. My goal was to get Water for Elephants, but of course out of the 2500 book stores they had they were all sold out. I ended up getting The Matters of the heart. It has been pretty good so far. I haven't had a chance to finish it yet. We got to Antigua at around 2 that afternoon. When we got to the hotel were we were greeted with Campaign and a few snacks before they showed us to our room.

I was pretty impressed with how nice it was. It was a lot bigger than the last Sandals we stayed at. It was almost a little bit overwhelming. After we unpacked our bags, which I am a little bit OCD about when we go on vacation, we walked around a little before making our way to the pool.

As soon as we got in the pool we met a couple on there honeymoon from Nashville who actually went to Auburn. They were super nice and we hung out with them some the rest of the time we were there. After leaving the pool we walked on the beach some.

It was probably the softest sand I have ever walked on before. It was almost like mud. AMAZING!!! That night we went to Mario's for dinner.

Photobucket

It was Italian and delicious. The rest of the trip we stayed by the pool and beach the whole time with only a few exceptions. We went shopping one day at St. Johns Bay.

Photobucket

Didn't really buy much just wanted to get out and about. The only other time we left the resort was to go do the zip line adventure. The zip line was more fun than I thought it would be. I thought it would be like one line that we went across but it was more like 12, I think. After the regular zip lines we went on a extreme course of different obstacles to do while we were in between trees.

I can't really describe it but it was a lot of fun and some what challenging.

One night we went to the gift shop at the resort and Trevor got him a little surprise.

While at the resort we played pool volleyball most days and went out in the ocean some in these...

We also took these things out that look like extreme bikes on water. They were fun but a work out.
On the way back we had a long day of flying. With us coming home on a holiday there were fewer flights to choose from so we had to make two different connections on the way back.

We have been home for a week now so I figured it was about time to make a post. As my body is getting back to work mode we only have a two day work week this week then we are headed to the beach to meet my family. My parents, sister, brother-in-law, and nieces left this past Sunday to head down there. Trevor and I are leaving Wednesday and then coming back Sunday. I am ready to get there.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!!!

Regions Tradition ProAm and Tournament

On Tuesday the last night of finals I met Trevor at his parents to start both of our celebrating. We went the Shoal Creek Golf course for dinner and the parings party. When we first got there we were told tee times for the ProAm the next morning. I took off that Wednesday because it was the day after finals so I could have a break but also because I wanted to watch Trevor play in the tournament. I was hoping to sleep in a little on my day off before heading to the golf course but...since his tee time was at SEVEN O'CLOCK it was kind of hard to do that. We were like "seriously!"when we saw the time!
After hanging out for a little while we got food and sat down to eat. The food was delicious! We had shrimp, raw oysters, and lots of other wonderful things. While we were eating Taylor Hicks came out and sang in front of us. We thought he was actually really good. He still makes his crazy facial expressions but he did good. His saxaphone player was amazing.

After dinner they had some auctions for charity and Trevor found out who he was playing with for the next morning. He was pared to play with his dad, two of their sales reps for Jeldwin (a window company), and Chin Soon Lu(Professional).
The next morning we woke up at 4:30 to head out to Shoal Creek. It was pretty cold and wet out. After we got there we went in the club house and they had a big breakfast spread layed out. Trevor got a huge gift certificate for the Nike tent along with a nice money clip that was his pass to get in everywhere. I was really surprised that I was able to go everywhere they went and was able to participate in everything. I was able to go in the club house with them and eat and everything.
Trevor did really good playing. He was told that it would be really nerve racking for his first drive on the first hole there but that was actually his best tee shot. I was so proud. Their team ended up finishing 9 under.

After he got finished playing we went to the Nike tent so he could spend his gift certificate. The tent had everything you could think of in it for golf. He got lots of nice things in it. After that we went to the clubhouse and ate lunch. We hung out for a little while after lunch and watched some other teams finish.

On Saturday we went back to Shoal Creek to watch the tournament with Sam and Joe, a tradition we have made. We had a lot of fun.

We hung out in the Regions tent and ate lunch when we got there. After lunch we went and followed Lu around for a little while to watch him play. He did well. He played with Mike Price that day.

After we finished at the the golf tournament we went to the Tatum's crawfish broil. It was nice to hang out with lots of friends we haven't seen in a while. Great way to end my last week of school.

# 4 Graduate From RN School

Tuesday, the 3rd, was my last final for school and I PASSED! Hallelujah!! No more school for a while for me. On Friday I had my pinning ceremony. My grandparents, parents, and Trevor all came. It was nice to have all of them with me. Here are a few pictures my mom took....

I am so happy to start getting my life back. Trevor and I went to the grocery store last weekend and got food for the week to cook at home. We honestly haven't done that in a year. Funny how you get excited about those things but it is just the small things that I missed doing with Trevor. Hope everyone had a great week!

Wedding Month

The first weekend in April we went to Trevor's cousins wedding in Atlanta at the Four Seasons. It was very nice. Most of the family was there from Michigan so it was good to see everyone. Our room was on the 18th floor and was on the corner so we had two windows that looked over the city. Great View! The wedding was beautiful. The ceremony was outside on the terrace looking over the city and the reception was in the was in the ballroom. The food was delicious. We had steak, spinach stuffed chicken, potatoes and asparagus. Congrats to the happy couple Casey and Michele Lobdell.

I had three test that next week so every spare minute I had other than wedding time I was studying.

The next weekend, the 16th, we had Aaron and Jordan's wedding at Anderson Gail Farms. We were actually late to the wedding. We put it in the GPS, due to never going there before, that morning to make sure what time we needed to leave. I am a planner. School, I think makes me prepare early for things. But it would have been nice if we had the time of the wedding right. I thought the wedding was at 6:30 when I looked at the invitation a few days prior but I was wrong it started at 6:00. We pulled up there at like 6:15 thinking we were early but no. Luckily we were not the only ones and we didn't miss anything. The place was nice. It was good to see friends for a little bit. Unfortunately this was the weekend I was studying so hard for the test that was worth close to half of my grade so we didn't stay but for maybe an hour. The rest of that weekend was all studying. LONG HOURS!!

Photobucket

That Monday was my test and our two year wedding anniversary. We didn't make any plans for it, since I had that test. It was a wonderful day. I did really well on my test!! So after I got home I changed and we went to the Melting Pot. YUM! It is always so good. We will celebrate it a little better after I get done with school in Antigua.

The last wedding of the month was Heather and Ben's wedding. Heather is a good friend of mine from high school. It was in her Aunt and Uncle's barn. Everything turned out perfect. It was such a cute idea and her husband spent many hours cleaning and putting lights up in the area. All of the little decorating ideas were so cute. They even gave out homeade jam with a picture of the barn on the top of the jar as favors!!

I am trying to study the best that I can these last fews days of school. I have my big final tomorrow night and then a make-up final that we were supposed to have last week for my other class. Pray that this week goes well.
