Regions Tradition ProAm and Tournament

On Tuesday the last night of finals I met Trevor at his parents to start both of our celebrating. We went the Shoal Creek Golf course for dinner and the parings party. When we first got there we were told tee times for the ProAm the next morning. I took off that Wednesday because it was the day after finals so I could have a break but also because I wanted to watch Trevor play in the tournament. I was hoping to sleep in a little on my day off before heading to the golf course but...since his tee time was at SEVEN O'CLOCK it was kind of hard to do that. We were like "seriously!"when we saw the time!
After hanging out for a little while we got food and sat down to eat. The food was delicious! We had shrimp, raw oysters, and lots of other wonderful things. While we were eating Taylor Hicks came out and sang in front of us. We thought he was actually really good. He still makes his crazy facial expressions but he did good. His saxaphone player was amazing.

After dinner they had some auctions for charity and Trevor found out who he was playing with for the next morning. He was pared to play with his dad, two of their sales reps for Jeldwin (a window company), and Chin Soon Lu(Professional).
The next morning we woke up at 4:30 to head out to Shoal Creek. It was pretty cold and wet out. After we got there we went in the club house and they had a big breakfast spread layed out. Trevor got a huge gift certificate for the Nike tent along with a nice money clip that was his pass to get in everywhere. I was really surprised that I was able to go everywhere they went and was able to participate in everything. I was able to go in the club house with them and eat and everything.
Trevor did really good playing. He was told that it would be really nerve racking for his first drive on the first hole there but that was actually his best tee shot. I was so proud. Their team ended up finishing 9 under.

After he got finished playing we went to the Nike tent so he could spend his gift certificate. The tent had everything you could think of in it for golf. He got lots of nice things in it. After that we went to the clubhouse and ate lunch. We hung out for a little while after lunch and watched some other teams finish.

On Saturday we went back to Shoal Creek to watch the tournament with Sam and Joe, a tradition we have made. We had a lot of fun.

We hung out in the Regions tent and ate lunch when we got there. After lunch we went and followed Lu around for a little while to watch him play. He did well. He played with Mike Price that day.

After we finished at the the golf tournament we went to the Tatum's crawfish broil. It was nice to hang out with lots of friends we haven't seen in a while. Great way to end my last week of school.

# 4 Graduate From RN School

Tuesday, the 3rd, was my last final for school and I PASSED! Hallelujah!! No more school for a while for me. On Friday I had my pinning ceremony. My grandparents, parents, and Trevor all came. It was nice to have all of them with me. Here are a few pictures my mom took....

I am so happy to start getting my life back. Trevor and I went to the grocery store last weekend and got food for the week to cook at home. We honestly haven't done that in a year. Funny how you get excited about those things but it is just the small things that I missed doing with Trevor. Hope everyone had a great week!

Wedding Month

The first weekend in April we went to Trevor's cousins wedding in Atlanta at the Four Seasons. It was very nice. Most of the family was there from Michigan so it was good to see everyone. Our room was on the 18th floor and was on the corner so we had two windows that looked over the city. Great View! The wedding was beautiful. The ceremony was outside on the terrace looking over the city and the reception was in the was in the ballroom. The food was delicious. We had steak, spinach stuffed chicken, potatoes and asparagus. Congrats to the happy couple Casey and Michele Lobdell.

I had three test that next week so every spare minute I had other than wedding time I was studying.

The next weekend, the 16th, we had Aaron and Jordan's wedding at Anderson Gail Farms. We were actually late to the wedding. We put it in the GPS, due to never going there before, that morning to make sure what time we needed to leave. I am a planner. School, I think makes me prepare early for things. But it would have been nice if we had the time of the wedding right. I thought the wedding was at 6:30 when I looked at the invitation a few days prior but I was wrong it started at 6:00. We pulled up there at like 6:15 thinking we were early but no. Luckily we were not the only ones and we didn't miss anything. The place was nice. It was good to see friends for a little bit. Unfortunately this was the weekend I was studying so hard for the test that was worth close to half of my grade so we didn't stay but for maybe an hour. The rest of that weekend was all studying. LONG HOURS!!

That Monday was my test and our two year wedding anniversary. We didn't make any plans for it, since I had that test. It was a wonderful day. I did really well on my test!! So after I got home I changed and we went to the Melting Pot. YUM! It is always so good. We will celebrate it a little better after I get done with school in Antigua.

The last wedding of the month was Heather and Ben's wedding. Heather is a good friend of mine from high school. It was in her Aunt and Uncle's barn. Everything turned out perfect. It was such a cute idea and her husband spent many hours cleaning and putting lights up in the area. All of the little decorating ideas were so cute. They even gave out homeade jam with a picture of the barn on the top of the jar as favors!!

Disaster in Alabama

In all my years of hearing James Spann on the news saying take cover, there is a tornado warning in your area, I never imagined something like this. When this happens usually I am like ok lets go outside and look around and when we see something we will get in our safe place. I will never do that again!! In Tuscaloosa, where I went to school for 3 years before graduating in 2009, is in pieces. I am so glad the friends that I have that still live there were all safe. Some of them no longer have a place to call home but they do have their life. More than hundreds of others could say if they were still with us. My good friend Emily no longer has an apartment in the Pleasant Grove/Hueytown area. The sad thing is she had to find out about it on facebook due to phones not working. Luckily she was at her boyfriends in Mccalla when it came through. My heart goes out to all that were affected by this storm. We just listened on the radio as everything happened, due to the power being out. So when I was able to see everything that they were saying on the radio with my own eyes it made a world of difference. There are donation sites all around Alabama right now. There is one in the old Winn Dixie shopping center, by my house if anyone needs a place to take things. They are accepting pretty much everything from toiletries to canned food and clothing. I am so proud to see people working together in these hard times without hesitation. I can't help but cry every time I watch these videos

Easter Weekend

On Saturday night we went to dinner with the Lobdell's and then to their church for Easter service. They always present people to the church with their sponsor during the Easter service. This year Alissa my sister-in-law was one of them. She has been going to months of classes at the church to learn about the Catholic religion. So she was baptised and became a member of the church.

After church we went back to Trevor's parents house to have cake for a little celebration.

On Sunday morning we went to my church with the family. Crazy crowded like usual. Especially with lots of people that you don't see around the church much, just for special occasions. A lot of people criticize those that do that but I don't. I am just happy that so many were there to hear the service. After church we went to my grandmothers for lunch with the family.

This coming up week I start finals. I have a make-up test tomorrow on Cardio. I missed it at the beginning of the semester when I was sick. Kind of nervous about it because the material was covered so long ago, it seems. On Thursday I have a final for one class and then Monday May the 2nd is my other final. Please pray that I do well. A week and a day from today I will officially be done with school. For a while anyway.

My Crazy Month

Wow! Two posts in one weekend when I haven't posted anything in a month. Well...today was my last day of my preceptorship. What a crazy last 3 weeks it has been. I just added it up and in the past 3 weeks between my actual full time job and my preceptorship I have worked a total of 200 hours and 30 minutes to be exact. Not counting the hours of paper work I have done in my spare time, you know. So I guess you can understand why I have been out of the picture for the entire month. My preceptorship was in Labor and Delivery and Shelby. It felt weird pulling back into the Shelby Baptist Medical Center parking lot so many times in the past few weeks. It really brought back many memories from the two years I worked as a tech in the ER. The first day on the L&D unit was when all the memories started to come back to my knees especially. After walking on concrete hard flooring for 12 hours straight reminded my knees of the old days and I was younger then. Okay enough about my knees back to the unit!! I had a wonderful preceptor named Wendy. She taught me so much more than I could ever learn in a text book. After being at Shelby in L&D for 16 years, she knows her stuff and takes very good care of her patients. I did so many things on my own and actually felt pretty confident in myself by the last day. I know that you all do not want to hear about all of the gory details of everything so I will not go into all of that. I did not realize how gory things were until over dinner the other night with Trevor. I was explaining something to him that I did when he in turn felt nauseous over his meal and informed me that he was done listening for then. I guess with my dad being a fireman and my sister working in the ER for a while too my mom just got used to our conversations at dinner and never thought of it. But when I try to talk to Trevor about some things they appear to be not dinner conversations with him or conversations ever as far as he is concerned. All I know is you definitely loose your "always beautiful to your husband" look when you are in labor. This is just my opinion not every ones I am sure. You definitely go through a lot with them the few days you are at the hospital for sure. Though Trevor may be passed out beside the bed during most of it, I am sure he would still call me beautiful to my face at least. HA! I am kind of going to miss being there on the weekends. There was always something new and different with Wendy and I. We never once had a smooth delivery. You are lucky all of you ladies out there if you get one of those. After every day she would tell me it is not always like this. I did see enough c-sections to get my fix on them for a long time, maybe forever.

I am taking a break from studying now because after work tomorrow I start back class 4 nights a week and tomorrow is my first test back. Hopefully it will not be too bad. It is in my easier class. I say that, but my last test in this class I didn't do so great. With that said I probably need to get back to studying. I just wanted to let you guys know I wasn't dead or avoiding anyone and I can't wait to spend time with my friends and family again. It will have to wait until May though. I have 12 tests in the next 6 weeks. Taking a short 1 day break for Trevor's cousins wedding. So if anything that will be the only post made by me until May. Hope everyone has a wonderful week! Please pray for me to make it out of all of this!!!
