It’s A Boy

Trevor came and met me at work the Wednesday before Christmas and the Ultrasound tech here was so nice to do one for us. Neither of our parents knew that we were getting it done this early. We are not scheduled to get our anatomy scan until my 20th week on January the 10th, so that is all they knew. I drank a half of a Diet Mountain Dew before I went downstairs because I was scared the baby would be sleeping and wouldn’t corporate. I have heard many stories where people have had to come back because the baby wouldn’t show their stuff. When she started to do the ultra sound you could tell the baby’s feet were crossed. So she moved my belly around some to wake him up. As Trevor was looking at it and I was looking at him, he said “is that what I think it is?” Right then before even looking I knew it was a boy. He started grinning from ear to ear. Angela said yep it is a BOY!!! Like I have said before, I didn’t care either way because I want both a boy and a girl, so I was excited as well. I knew Trevor wanted a boy so that made me even happier. He all of a sudden started moving around a lot. She said well I think the caffeine has just kicked in. It was so hard to hold it in until Christmas. The next morning when we woke up Trevor kissed my belly and said good morning son. To know what the baby is now makes it even that much more real that we will soon be parents.

We decided to tell our parents on Christmas eve instead of Christmas morning just because of the way we were doing Christmas with our families this year. My dad had to work on Christmas day so we were going to celebrate the day after Christmas with my family. It was kind of nice to do it that way because we spent a whole day with each of our families. I hated that my dad had to work on Christmas though.

Before we went to dinner and church service on Christmas Eve we went to my parents house and gave them this to open…..

FPO

They were so excited. They don’t have any boys in the family. It is just me and my sister then she has two girls. I am happy that my dad will be able to do boy things with our son that he hasn’t ever had the chance to do. After we left my parents house we headed to Trevor’s
parents. We wanted to give it to them before we left for church because Trevor couldn’t wait any longer. They were really excited as well. We gave them the same plaque that we gave my parents. His mom started crying hysterically. She really wanted a girl because she has always had boys, but she knew we weren’t just having one child and said she was wanting us to have a boy first. Plus she knew that is what Trevor really wanted. But then she was mad at us because she lost all her make-up before we went out.

Here are a few pictures that we got. We didn’t get many but just enough to show us in black and white that it is a boy. I am sure we will get a bunch more at our anatomy scan.

We have not for sure made up our minds on a name. It is a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. We will let you know as soon as we figure it out for sure.

Tacky Christmas Party

This past Friday we had a Christmas party at Trevor’s parents house. Turns out hosting a party while pregnant is pretty hard. On Thursday after I got home from work I was in the kitchen until around 9:30 making some things then went to work at 7 Friday morning. On Friday after work I went home and finished baking before going to his parents. By the end of the party I was literally sick. I had a lot of fun during it but between everyone leaving and cleaning up didn’t work out so well….so I was not the best at helping clean. We had a good turnout with a few of our friends, Chad and Alissa’s friends, and his parents friends. All the food was so yummy. We got a bunch of wings from Buffalos, different dips, meatballs, and of course sweets. We played darts, pool, and cards. I hope everyone had as much fun as we did.

I am ready for Christmas at my house. All the presents are wrapped just waiting on the upcoming events to celebrate with family and friends. Tomorrow is my last day of work for the week and I am not going back until next Tuesday. Excited to have a long break. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday with their loved ones. I also hope that the real reason for the season is remembered, JESUS!!!

Let the Christmas Parties Begin…

This past Saturday was our first Christmas party of the year. It was Bubba and Betty’s party at their house. We had a lot of fun. He has one of the most beautiful views I have seen that looks over 280 from his backyard. Turns out the baby really loves shrimp right now. I ate probably a dozen jumbo cocktail shrimp along with all the other food they had there. Some of the boys played ping pong and a little pool, while others just stood around and chatted it up. flowers 916Jason and Bubba (Sorry these aren’t the best pictures didn’t have my good camera there)

16 Week Appointment

Today was my 16 week doctors appointment. Everything with the baby and I look great. I think the HR today was 156. Next month we will find out if we are having a beautiful baby girl or a handsome baby boy. I am excited about finding out but not as much as I thought that I would. I guess just due to me really not caring or wanting one over the other.  Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Our Week

This past weekend we went to Chad and Alissa’s house to watch the SEC championship. We had a lot of fun but I ate too much football junk food. So by the end of the night I wasn’t feeling so well. Georgia didn’t win but they put up a good fight against the # 1 team. Here are a few pictures from the night…..

Last night I woke up in the middle of the night to bad stomach pain. After an hour of that at 3 in the morning I was finally able to go back to sleep. After I woke up I checked the babies HR and the baby seemed fine with a rate of 154. Still I called the OB and they wanted me to have an US just to make sure everything was going okay. From one bad night two good things happened, I got to see my precious little one and turns out all of the pain was because my 5cm cyst that was on my ovary ruptured. No more worries in the cyst department. The doctor told me in the beginning that as the baby grew, the baby should take over and the cyst would go away. It was just our prayer that this would happen and we wouldn’t have to worry about it growing anymore. Here are a few pictures they gave me…….
